What is Lit & Lounge?

Inspired by the "The Sisterhood" founded by legendary Black Women writers Alice Walker, June Jordan, Toni Morrison and Jessica Harris. Literary and Lounge, affectionately known as LIT & LOUNGE, was created to provide sisterhood, community, and sanctuary to Black and brown women seeking a space to unapologetically give birth to their writing.  All women of color are welcome to participate.

Lit & Lounge is a space for creatives, and for women who need community while they write. 

We oftentimes neglect the need to carve out space for ourselves and our writing. Lit & Lounge is the escape we need to garnish skills, discuss literary works, and become comfortable with our words.
